No Guns in Canterlot
There's a distinct lack of first person shooters in the pony fandom, and for good reason: colourful horses just aren't as fun when you can't see the ones you're playing as. However, that hasn't stopped Jach (you might be familiar with some of his previous works, such as A World You Should Not Know), who decided to switch from the Blender Game Engine to Unity3D and make a game about shooting changelings with guns, because apparently magic missiles aren't good enough for some reason. Players also have the choice of playing as Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadance and Shining Armor, each with their own weapons and magical abilities, which offers some more variety I guess.
No word on when the project will eventually be released, although Jach claims he'll set up a blog for it in the near future with development updates.
This was the closest thing to a SFW Princess Shining Armor picture that I could find.

Friendship is Fragging Video Update
Since apparently some of you have been constantly bugging Negation Squared about another video update for Friendship is Fragging, they gave in to your whining and were forced to release one for you. So go on, watch it! And don't blame me if it's really boring, because you were the ones who clamoured for it!
Just kidding, it's not that bad of an update, although it's pretty evident that the team has been focusing most of it's attention on MLP: Rise of Vicis and not so much on Friendship is Fragging. I'm fine with the FiF being delayed as long as they're still working on RoV, which in my eyes is a far more interesting project.
...And now for a piece of somewhat related news. Negation Squared has announced that they plan on releasing a demo for MLP:RoV in June, which I am really looking forward to. Let's just hope it doesn't fall into development hell, eh?

Rather Large Immolation Update
The developers of the MLP: FiM-related first person shooter Immolation just released a massive blog post, and even though it's far too big to repost the entirety of it's content, I can still give a condensed summary of the original, massive wall of text (which you can read at their original post), along with some concept art and work in progress screenshots of the game.
So basically, the entire story has been revamped. Its changed to "a mild satire of the U.S. Government", and features something about a conspiracy, protesters turned terrorists, and threat of a civil war. To be honest, the full description was kind of murky, told in first-person perspective, so this is what I made of it (if you can figure anything else out, let us know in the comments). Nine new members have been added to the dev team, and strangely enough one of them apparently isn't even a Brony, but found the project intriguing enough for them to work on. Below you can find some concept art, two music tracks, and some screenshots. Enjoy!
OK, so that's it for the concept art (click to view larger versions). Now for the music!
Music Box - Mod DB
Congratulations on making it this far! Now, if you've been good and patient, let's have a look at those screenshots, shall we?

Yes, I know it's in a very early state, but I just thought that it would be worth posting. After all, we gotta use what we get, right? Oh, and thanks for making it to the bottom. Some people give up at the very top, but unlike the vast, lazy majority you didn't (unless you clicked on the comments link or scrolled all the way down, you big cheater)! So give yourself a pat on the back, kick back and relax, unless you cheated. If so, then go to jail.

Friendship is Fragging
The team behind MLP:Rise of Vicis (now calling themselves Negation Squared and with a Facebook page) are working on YET ANOTHER My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic fangame, and it seems to be a FPS. Now it's technically a mod since it's a Doom 2 WAD, but it will be able to be played without Doom 2, and as you can see it's still in a rather early state. They are planning on having deathmatch maps designed to look like areas in the show, new weapons and characters and a rather short single-player campaign with around 8-10 levels.
There is also no set release date (as usual), in case any of you were curious.

Immolation
At Equestria Gaming we get to see many different types of pony-related indie games that are under development. Massively multiplayer online games, platformers, adventure games, and a complete overload of RPGS. Ironically, up to this point in an industry saturated in first person shooters we have not seen a single first person shooter under development, and no, I don't count mods. However, today that all has changed.
A My Little Pony FPS (while still in early development) has arose. Find out more information after the break.
Immolation's creator, "Piedoom" describes his project as a pony-related, steampunk first person shooter with a great emphasis on stealth. While we have no actual gameplay footage yet, Piedoom has released a couple screenshots, concept art and two music tracks (one of which can be found in the video at the top). Even though it's still in a very early state of development, it looks great (if a bit bare), and I look forward to giving it a try once it's released.
The fella also has a tumblr, which you can find at http://immolationgame.tumblr.com/.

Castle Pinkiestein
Castle Pinkiestein
If you've been following the Spike's Quest blog, you may have heard that its creator was alternating between working on it and a side-project titled Castle Pinkiestein, a first-person shooter/puzzle game starring Twilight Sparkle as the protagonist, trapped inside some sort of cruel nightmare in which she is forced to kill mutated Pinkie Pie clones. Aside from this there really isn't much else for info on the game (aside from what we've heard of it formerly being a minigame in Spike's Quest), so I guess we'll just have to wait for now and see how the project turns out.
My apologies for the overall lack of content lately as well, I'm just waiting for the My Little Game Dev Marathon to finish so I can post about the results (it officially ends at some point tomorrow, which will be followed by a one or two day delay until I get the go-ahead to write the compilation post).

Oh hey, you'll also be able to play this game with your dorky 3D glasses.
