Games & Grub at the Green Bean - September 26th

Friday September 26th we've got a Games & Grub event being held at The Green Bean's Windsor Star News Cafe. This all ages event runs from 6pm until 11pm.

The Windsor Star News Cafe is located at 300 Ouellette Ave, 3rd floor. This is the cafe that is part of the new Windsor Star located where the old downtown palace theater was.

The Green Bean Cafe has great food, coffee and other yummy things. The location is also licensed and offers some awesome beer from Walkerville Brewery as well as local Wines. Street parking is free after 6pm if you can find a spot and there are two parking garages in a very short walking distance if you can't.

We play a wide variety of games at these events. You will find card, dice and board games. We've even seen some miniature gamers bring their armies out. There's no theme to the event. Our last gaming event saw games of Shadow Hunters, Marvel Dice Masters, Chattabox, X-Wing, Telestrations, Lords of Vegas, Boss Monster and more.

We encourage you to bring some games out, whether an old favourite or something new you want to try out. If you don't have anything to bring, that's cool too. There's always lots of variety and people are always happy to teach you the games they have brought.

Games and Grub at the Green Bean April 12th

The Windsor Gaming Resource is proud to announce another free Games and Grub gaming event at the Green Bean on Friday April 12th 2013, running from 6PM until 11PM.

The Green Bean is an independent coffee shop that provides a wide variety of coffees, teas, lattes and more. They have a full menu that includes fresh made soup, paninis and some really tempting deserts. There's the option for a bottomless cup of coffee and they have free WiFi. For us gamers they have a wide variety of tables of various sizes and a well lit stage.

This is an open non-competitive gaming event that anyone is welcome to attend. Any form of game is welcome: board, card, rpg, miniatures, whatever you want to bring we are willing to have you. We aren't rule lawyers. You are welcome to bring your own games or share in some of ours. Everything we bring we are willing to teach and no experience is necessary. The goal is to get as many local gamers out as possible to enjoy some good food, some good company and some good games!

Games we've played in the past include: Catan, Dominion, Scrabble, Ca$h and Gun$, Bohnanzha, Magic The Gathering, Carcasonne, Race for the Galaxy, Puerto Rico, Agricola, Castles of Burgandy, Munchkin, Scrabble, and more

An important note: we are not a private club. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come out and join in the games. If you see someone playing a game and it looks interesting, ask about it. If you see a game on a table and you want to try it out, ask around and see if someone will teach it.

Games & Grub at the Green Bean (University of Windsor Location) - Feb 28th

Friday February 28th we've got a Games & Grub event being hosted by the Green Bean Cafe. This all ages event runs from 6pm until 11pm.

Due to the Windsor Star having an event at the Windsor Star Cafe, this event will be held at the original Green Bean Cafe right by the University of Windsor. The actual address is 2320 Wyandotte St W. (Lower Level). It's in the basement of the church with the great big "God Loves Students" sign, next to the Harvey's. 

The Green Bean Cafe has great food and offers bottomless coffee along with lots of other yummy things. Unlike downtown this location is not licensed. Parking can be found out front on Wyandotte and you don't have to pay the meters after 6. Do not park on the side streets unless you have a U of W parking permit. 

We play a wide variety of games at these events. You will find card, dice and board games. We've even seen some miniature gamers bring their armies out. There's no theme to the event. You are welcome to bring your favourite game or just enjoy ones that others have brought. There's always lots of variety and people are usually very happy to teach you their favourite games.

Our last event saw plays of Space Cadets Dice Duel, Spyrium, Ticket To Ride, 7 Wonders, Entdecker, Smash Up, Pandemic and lots more.

Games and Grub at the Green Bean - January 31st

On the 31st of January we return to the Green Bean's Windsor Star Cafe in Downtown Windsor. The event starts at 6pm and goes until 11pm and is open to all ages.

The Green Bean Coffee Company, Windsor Star Cafe is located on the third floor of 300 Ouellette ave. You can take the elevator from the ground or the stairs up from the 2nd floor. This is the location of the old Palace theaters.

There's lots of room and great lighting at this venue. We've found it's great for long and short games alike. The large tables are great for those games like Eclipse that are hard to fit at home.

There's no theme to the event. Bring whatever you like, or show up and play some of the games others have brought. Everyone is usually willing to teach anything they bring.
