Tom the Rock Simulator

It's a rock.

Ever the ambitious fellow, Vanni decided to release a tie-in game to the ever-popular Goat Simulator (also being released today) featuring Rarity's waifu as its main character, doing what he normally does when he isn't being showered with affection from Maud. Some may find the content a bit lacking, although I personally think that it's an excellent representation of Tom's daily life including the bits where he does his own stunts and attends all the award ceremonies his voice actor has been been invited to lately. I'd suggest that future releases add in a realtime day/night cycle and possibly some wildlife to occasionally appear in the background, but as its stands right now this is probably one of the better avant-garde fangames we'll see this year (with the possible exception of BFS, which I'll be posting about in a bit).

Rumour has it that a sequel is coming to the App Store featuring unlockable outfits. Look for it in Summer 2014!

Tom has been contacted in the hopes that he would consent to an interview on the subject of his experiences as a video game protagonist, although we have not yet received a response from him.

WGR Refocus and top games of all time

Welcome to the new and improved Windsor Gaming Resource. A website dedicated to the best games of all time. A place for people to gather to play great games with friends and family. A place for gamers new and old to find out about new games and hook up with other local gamers.

Why the change? Well so called Euro-games and Ameri-Trash seem hot right now but I've done my research and it's been proven without a doubt that this fascination with deeply strategic games, games that focus on maximizing fun and player interaction, is just a fad. A fad that is going to fade within the next year. I want to be be on the cutting edge of gaming so I'm making this change ahead of the curve.

Who wants to play a game about farming when you could be building a Monopoly? Who wants to plant beans when you can Go Fish! How much fun can battling for Ascension be compared to a Game of War!

Also being in Windsor, I thought I would be remiss to totally skip over the big glowing building downtown: The Casino. So you can expect to see a lot more Casino Windsor info here in the coming weeks. Players choice awards, upcoming shows and more. I'm working towards getting some exclusive deals with the Casino and am very close to being able to offer all members $1 off the amazing buffet.

To finish off our first post under the new look and focus I want to leave you with a list. A list of some of the best games of all time. Games people have been coming back to year after year. The stuff we grew up on and the stuff that's still great. You may have forgotten just how good these games are and I think it's high time we return back to the roots.

Monopoly - the big daddy of boardgaming. Probably the best game of all time. The key to this one though is the right house rules. You don't want the game to be over in the first hour so you want to make sure to get rid of the Auction rule right away. Next don't allow people to buy properties the first time around the board. Now in order to give a player who is loosing a chance, we suggest you take all the money that should go to the bank and put it on Free Parking. Anyone that lands there get's the money!

Chutes and Ladders - this is a fantastic game for so many reasons. The theme is great. If you are good you get to move up the ladder and move towards the goal at the end. If you are bad you slide down a chute and end up farther from the goal. A lot of people just gloss over the theme aspect of this game and just think it's moving up and down randomly without noticing the life lesson. A fair warning though: watch our for old printings. There are some early evil printings of this game under the name Snakes & Ladders. This is a sick twisted game made back in the dark ages and used to scare children. Avoid it at all cost.

Go Fish! - I noted this one above and compared it to the popular Uwe Roseberg game Bohnanza. In Bohnanza you plant beans. That's right you are a grubby farmer worried about running out of Green Beans. How much fun is that? How about instead we Go Fish! The mix of relaxation sitting back trying to get a catch combined with the thrill of the hunt. Casting your rod and net and trying to collect more fish than your opponents. This works just as well two player as more. Tons of interaction and strategy as you try to guess what kind of fish your opponents are collecting while trying to hide your intentions.

WAR! - What is more strategic, dramatic and gripping than War! Two sides going to battle. One winner and one looser. This game has a fantastic attrition feel as you fight battle after battle slowly loosing troops and resources to the other player. Then suddenly things escalate and these skirmishes become a WAR!!! The stakes are raised and one card can swing the entire tide of the game.

So there you have it four games that some people claim to be the best games of all time and the arguments supporting them. Personally I would put as much faith in those as I would on anything else on April 1st.

Review: Daring Do Demo

Why review an older game that never reached completion? Bear with me for five minutes.

Don't get put off by the "demo" label - although it may not update again, Alexmakovsky's Daring Do: the Flash Game already has some serious meat to it. Daring Do's the perfect candidate for an adventure platformer, but for some reason she doesn't star in many games - making this one that much more unique. But can the game live up to it's promise? Find out after the break.

After being knocked out of the air by a legion of griffons, famed adventurer Daring Do plummets to the jungle floor in the vicinity of a mysterious temple. Due to her damaged wings (a cliched but serviceable plot device) the player will have to navigate without flying. Unfortunately, the jungle's infested with dart-shooting monkeys and Ahuizotl's cats.

The most quickly apparent feature of Daring Do: the Flash Game is its brilliant art and custom character animation. From the start menu, throughout the cutscenes, jungle floor and temple mazes, the game is visually dazzling. Although the scenery made less of an impression as the game became harder and I began to focus on survival, it remained consistently high-quality, attaining a standard that very few pony games can match.

Rather than exploring the temple level by level, the entire game is situated in a single open world. When the player gets a certain artifact or defeats a particular monster, a door on the other side of the map will open up. While this approach makes progressing in the game feel like an actual temple exploration, sometimes you're left having no idea where to go next. Several times, I thought I might have reached the end of the game, only to discover a new labyrinth off of a previously missed tunnel.

The artsy, open-world style of this game, and the discovery of several other ponies deep in the temple reminded me a little of Stroll, the meditative art game from a few months back. Like Stroll, the game is filled with secret passageways, most of which lead to treasure. However, Daring Do: the Flash Game also has a variety of enemy and puzzle types, some of which require a decent amount of skill to get past. The game never becomes too nerve-wracking (after death, Daring Do respawns close by) but a couple of rooms require good timing to survive.

Fun fact: Daring Do's pushing power is roughly equal to that of a parasprite.
Also, those stone blocks must weigh next to nothing.

The interior of the temple includes the whole roster of classic traps: passageways are crammed with spikes, rotating blades, disappearing floors, massive spike-covered steel balls, giant spiders, chains, vines, and ominously encroaching thorns. Glyphs and inscriptions on the walls complete the experience. I hesitate to call Daring Do: the Flash Game an art game, but it's crafted ambiance gives a similar experience.

Overall, any demo which I can sink two hours into without completely finishing needs to be called something else. Perhaps "super-demo", or just "game". I'd certainly welcome an achievement list, a walkthrough, or another way to keep track of my progress in game and make the world a little less overwhelming, but that's one of my few qualms. Daring Do: the Flash Game easily deserves a Spitfire Grade.

Welcome to Ponyville

Welcome to Ponyville

Another MLP visual novel-style game has been announced, and so far it's looking impressive. Welcome to Ponyville (created by a new group titled Filly Games) is built entirely from scratch and stars the player as a new pony who has just recently moved to Ponyville. Despite its similarities to a visual novel Welcome to Ponyville is a highly interactive game and features a highly customizable experience, along with over 40 characters to interact with.

Yes, the game sounds great (as with most MLP fangames), but it has one difference that really sets it apart from its comrades. What is it? Find out after the break!

Welcome to Ponyville's visual and auditory content is all made by the community, and you can help! Since the creators admit that they're solely programmers and not artists/voice actors, they would like art submissions for the game, along with voice actors, and everyone whose content makes it into the final game will get their name credited. Isn't that great? You can submit your work at FillyGamez@gmail.com, and title it as either ARTWORK or VOICE AUDITION, depending on what you are submitting. So if you're artistically talented or sound an awful lot like one of the ponies, why not offer your services?

For more detailed information on exactly what they want, please see: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oRkKWXg2Yvs0q0_yGA886_tlI4r4Gyi0TOOAcoP_b-0/edit?pli=1.

MLPOnline Release Date!

Apparently the developers of MLPOnline just announced the release date for the single player version of their MMO (???) a couple days ago, and it somehow flew under everypony's radars. So Xtux, you might be asking, when ARE they releasing it? Well, they said that it'd be at the summer BroNYCon, and that convention runs from June 30th to July 1st, so it'll be sometime in between that timeframe. Also, they stated that even if they do finish the game before, they'll still wait until the convention starts to release it. Sucks for you, har har.

If you want to view their original post on the subject, see http://www.mlponline.net/2012/developer-update-release-date.

EquestriaBound

Gameplay screenshot of EquestriaBound.
EquestriaBound

Given the current popularity of both Earthbound and My Little Pony, it was inevitable that eventually someone would mod ponies into the former, and now the deed has finally been done. I'm not sure about the mod's quality, but at least it should give you folks something to play while you wait for Curse of the Lost Kingdom's first part to be released on April 30th.

So sit back, patch your Earthbound ROM and enjoy the ride!

24 Hour Spring Break Marathon

From sometime in the afternoon April 6th at 12 pm EST to April 7th at somewhere else in the afternoon 12 pm EST a couple of fellas are holding a 24-ish hour gaming marathon. Now, these happen all the time and without getting posted, so why are you putting this up, you might ask. Well, the thing is at some unspecified point during the livestream they will air an unreleased trailer for MLP: Rise of Vicis. So even if just for the sake of watching that new trailer I encourage you to visit their livestream around noon on April 6th, and watch until your eyeballs fall out of your head from staring at your screen for so long (unless you've got matchstick eyes, or have a bladder of steel).

Xtux, out!

Doli Incapax: Horse Lawyer

With the popularity of the Phoenix Wright series (and the availability of case creators based on the games), it's no surprise that we've seen quite a few projects centered on combining the concept with My Little Pony. Among those is this little gem from Zoo977. Doli Incapax: Horse Lawyer is a charming one-case game made with one of the countless case creators, and like any good game of its type, the writing is top-notch. It's a game filled with OCs (in fact, outside of a small role from Rarity, no official ponies appear in the whole thing), but the characters are explored in a depth that rivals the games Horse Lawyer draws its inspiration from, and the game itself is equally enthralling.

I'll probably be getting into a more in-depth review later when I have the time, but there's another story-centric game sitting in the submission box, as well as a few personal projects of mine to get to, so you'll have to take my word for it that the game is definitely worth the couple of hours of entertainment it gives you.

The WGR presents Level Up! Level 2! an RPG event on April 19th

The Windsor Gaming Resource embarks on a new season of its RPG events with LEVEL UP! Level 2

April 19th the WGR will be hosting a day long RPG experience. The great folks at The Green Bean Windsor Star News Cafe have offered us some great gaming space from 12pm until 11pm. That's a whole lotta gaming!

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying from last year.
We will be following the same format as the 2013 Level Up! event. There will be two different sittings. an early sitting starting at 12 noon and a late sitting at 6pm. Each will have a variety of RPG games you can choose to play in. Each individual session should run between 4-5 hours. Doing the math you can see that there will be a 1 hour gap between sittings to give our GMs a break and give time for everyone to grab some food.

Right now the games that will be featured at this event include: Agents of Oblivion, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, All for One, Accursed, Pathfinder and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire.

We will be taking sign ups for the each individual game. The number of slots will vary by game and details of this will be found on the facebook event page. Unless otherwise stated by the GMs in question no experience with the particular game is needed.

Iron Kingdoms from 2013
We had such a great time of it last year, we want to make it even better this time! If you know people that aren’t part of the WGR and are into RPGs, TELL THEM ABOUT THIS! The more folks know about it, the more diverse the group and the more games get played!!

This is an awesome opportunity for non-roleplaying game players to experience this wonderful gaming hobby. It's also the perfect chance for RPG fans to try out a new system.

10 great games for public play events like Tabletop Day

With International Tabletop Day hitting on March 30th I thought it would be cool to share a list of 10 games that are great for play at a public play event. These are games that are can be easy to teach, quick to pick up, look really cool, allow for a lot of players or allow players to drop in and out. Note these are in no particular order.

1. Shadows Over Camelot - I had this one on my Top Ten Fantasy Games of All Time list and that's mainly due to how well it plays at open gaming events. The theme is cool, the components are awesome looking (especially with the addition of painted Knights from the expansion), and the game is pretty easy to teach. There are two other things that make this game perfect for public events. It plays up to eight players and players can jump in and out. This means that if someone new shows up they can jump right in and not have to wait for a game to finish. It also means people can jump out if they have to leave or if another game opens up they want to play.

2. Ca$h 'n Gun$ - This is a game where the main mechanic is pointing orange foam guns at the other players. Talk about catching the attention of everyone else at the venue! This is a great one to put on in a very visible area where it will catch everyone's eye. Added to the props this game is just a ton of fun and I've yet to see a group play it quietly. It's extremely easy to teach and it's the kind of game you teach once and then just let the table run itself for the rest of the night as people jump in and out. Cash 'n Guns also has the added advantage of being short which is good for public events where you want people to move from game to game and not be tied up in one game all night.

3. Formula D - This is one of the best racing games out there. It uses a really cool mechanic where you start in park and can shift gears up or down each turn. Each up shift gives you a bigger die to roll for movement. You start off with a D4 and can go up to a D30. The rules include a basic system and advanced and also have rules for street racing as well as Formula 1. What makes this one great for public play events is that you can play up to 10 players. It's rare to find a solid strategic, non-party game that can do that. Use the basic rules and run one only one lap for most events or do a full two laps with the full rules if you want more of an event that lasts all night.

4. Torres - I mentioned Torres in my 2012 Game Retrospective. This is a much heavier game than the other ones listed and does take a bit to explain, even though there are only a limited number of moves in the game it takes a bit to figure it out. Torres is worth learning to play though as it's a great Eurogame and fully deserves is Speil win. So why suggest a heavy game for public play? Well two main reasons. One: at every event you are going to get some players who are into longer more detailed thinking games. Two: the game looks great, the game is about stacking plastic towers and really sticks out. It catches people's attention and has them come over and ask: "What are you playing?"

5. Settlers of Catan - There are a wide number of reasons for packing this one for almost any public play event. Settlers didn't become the most well known non-traditional game in the world for no reason. It's widely considered one of the best gateway games on the market. It's easy to teach, looks really sharp and includes enough strategy and replayability that even hardcore gamers don't mind coming home to this one now and then. Another good reason to bring Catan is that it's popular. Lots of people know it and love it and it's good to have as a staple for those reasons alone.

6. Pitch Car - Here's one most people haven't even heard of. Pitch Car is an amazing dexterity game that plays up to eight players. What is a dexterity game? Well it's a game you play by physically manipulating the parts in some way. In Pitch Car you flick a little disc representing your car around the track. I've yet to find a player who didn't like this game once trying it. It's quick to set up, incredibly easy to teach and really catches people's attention. This one is perfect for the non-gamers as well.

7. Telestrations - I've never laughed as hard while playing a games as I have playing Telestrations. This is a codified version of Eat Poop You Cat or The Telephone Game. You get a word, draw it, pass to the next player, they guess what you drew, pass to the next player, they draw the last players guess, etc. If you can find the Family Edition pick it up as it plays up to 12 players.

8. Red Dragon Inn - This one is pretty new to my collection but quickly becoming an event favourite. Red Dragon Inn is a backstabbing Gotcha game based on Fantasy Roleplaying Tropes. It's meant to recreate what happens after the adventure, when the party is sitting around at the inn after the quest is complete and the reward has been collected. Each player grabs a unique character deck and then players party until they are the last character standing. You can be knocked out by passing out when your alcohol level hits your fortitude or you can run out of gold. With the two expansions this great game will play up to 12 players and will get a ton of laughs out of anyone familiar with fantasy gaming.

9. Race for the Galaxy - This one comes from my Top 10 Sci-Fi Games of All Time list. Race may not be the easiest game to explain to new players, which isn't great for public events but gameplay, replayability and speed more than make up for that in my opinion. This one works best for events once you've added an expansion or two as each adds the ability to play with one more player, so with two expansions you can get a group of six playing. Race is a good one for the gamers who show up and perfect for people who want something more strategic than Catan or more serious than Red Dragon Inn. Make sure you have the rules nailed so you can explain it quickly and offer to play through a few sample hands before the first game and you can reduce the learning curve.

10. Munchkin - I always grab a copy of Munchkin for every event I host. It doesn't matter if it's traditional fantasy Munchkin, Star Munchkin, Munckin Zombies,  Super Munchkin pictured here or some other version. I will fully admit I'm not a big fan of this series of games but lots of other people are. Every event I've ever hosted someone has played at least one game of some version of Munchkin. It's quick to teach, easy to learn and people seem to enjoy screwing over friend and strangers alike. Another bonus to Munchkin is that there's usually other people there that already know how to play so it doesn't require someone to be tied up as a game teacher. The one thing I would suggest though is the possibility of adding a time limit rule. Munchkin can be fast furious and quick or it can drag on for more than two hours generally boring most players involved.

So there you have it: ten games I recommend for bringing to public play events. One of the things I find you want to do is try to hit a wide variety of theme and game styles and complexities which I think this list does. Yes, there are plenty more great games out there and this list is no where near complete or totally inclusive. That said: what's your favourite game to bring out to the local board game night?

Rather Large Immolation Update

The developers of the MLP: FiM-related first person shooter Immolation just released a massive blog post, and even though it's far too big to repost the entirety of it's content, I can still give a condensed summary of the original, massive wall of text (which you can read at their original post), along with some concept art and work in progress screenshots of the game.

So basically, the entire story has been revamped. Its changed to "a mild satire of the U.S. Government", and features something about a conspiracy, protesters turned terrorists, and threat of a civil war. To be honest, the full description was kind of murky, told in first-person perspective, so this is what I made of it (if you can figure anything else out, let us know in the comments). Nine new members have been added to the dev team, and strangely enough one of them apparently isn't even a Brony, but found the project intriguing enough for them to work on. Below you can find some concept art, two music tracks, and some screenshots. Enjoy!

Music Box - Mod DB

Congratulations on making it this far! Now, if you've been good and patient, let's have a look at those screenshots, shall we?

New walls

Bookshelf!

A door!

A lovely window

Yes, I know it's in a very early state, but I just thought that it would be worth posting. After all, we gotta use what we get, right? Oh, and thanks for making it to the bottom. Some people give up at the very top, but unlike the vast, lazy majority you didn't (unless you clicked on the comments link or scrolled all the way down, you big cheater)! So give yourself a pat on the back, kick back and relax, unless you cheated. If so, then go to jail.

Fallout:Equestria RPG

Fallout:Equestria

In the vast Brony fandom there are many fanfics, but none of them are as influential as Fallout:Equestria (unless one counts the abominaton that is Cupcakes). Given that it was based off of a video game, it was only a matter of time before somepony began the herculean effort of adapting it into its own game. For quite some time now Plaristote has been working on his game, and from the website it appears that he has made surprisingly good progress when you consider that he's doing most of the work by himself. He's even making an editor for the game, so adapting your favourite Fo:E fanfics such as Project Horizons and Pink Eyes should be fairly easy.

Since the game is being made by one man, development has been relatively slow when compared to several other fangames. According to the recruitment page he could use a C++ programmer, some 3D modelers and an interface designer. If you feel like applying for a position, you can do so via their form.

Want some screenshots and a trailer? Of course, you could always compile it yourself and take a look at the actual game, but looking below the break is much easier.

A trailer from October. Not as pretty as how the game currently looks (see below), but it gets the general idea across.
A fairly recent terrain test (minus the interface and whatnot).
The Pipbuck's quest manager.
The level designer as it looked back in October.

The worldmap editor.
Interested in helping out with the project? Like I said above, check out their Recruitment page and fill out the form.

MLP: Online Source Code

My Little Pony: Online

After MLP:Online was shut down last year most of us expected the developers to give up on fangame development altogether or move to commercial development, but apparently they've decided to make another fangame codenamed Project Cygnus. Unfortunately we don't know much about it other than the fact that it is an action game, but in the meantime they have decided to ease the weight by releasing MLP:Online's source code (stripped of all resources). They are no longer supporting it, but if you want to use it for your own fangame: go ahead! It should work quite well for any RPGs that you plan on making, and if you tinker around with it a bit you'll probably be able to compile your game for Mac OS X and Linux too.

What are you waiting for? Grab the source code from Bitbucket, and it'd probably be a good idea to pick up the tools as well.

Success! Mane Six Earns the Skullgirls Engine

Keep Skullgirls Growing

Despite the doubts of many (myself included), the Keep Skullgirls Growing campaign managed to reach the required goal of $725k with only 10 hours left, which means Mane Six gets to use the incredible Skullgirls engine for free. Congratulations to everypony who donated! I am proud of you all.

...In case you're confused as to what good this means for Mane Six and the future of Fighting is Magic, I would advise that you read their official FAQ on the subject.

Game:Apples

Apples screenshot

Usually I don't bother looking at Ponychan's /collab/ board, since most of it is just ponies asking for help on projects that never get past the planning stage. Given the recent lack of news I was feeling rather desperate, and I decided to browse the board to see if I could find any interesting fangames. I found several, and the first of which is a game simply titled Apples. As you may have probably guessed, it is about Applejack, and as with most games about her it is not a platformer.  Pretty much all the player has to do is collect apples and dodge barrels, and as the player collects more points the game moves at a faster pace.

Is it worthy of a review? Not really, although it's kind of fun to waste a couple minutes on it. We'll have a couple more games to post today, which may be more or less substantial than this one.

MLP: Fighting is Magic Test Game Footage

The testers of Mane 6's MLP: Fighting is Magic have released another preview video, showcasing the stability that you can expect in the final product. It's amazing how far they've come, and I found myself delighted with many of the new abilities revealed in the footage. The extraordinary power of some of those moves put a manly tear in my eye, for they were executed with such skill, such agility...it's clear that while this game will be easy to pick up and play, those who truly master it can unleash the hidden power of the seemingly ordinary characters. So if you're wanting more information on what the final version of Fighting is Magic will look like, this video is what you should watch!

Mane 6 at the Canterlot Gardens Convention!

Mane 6, the developers of MLP: Fighting is Magic, are have announced that they are attending a new convention titled the Canterlot Gardens, which takes place from September 28-30, 2012 in Strongsville, Ohio. So far, only Nappy and Leeden have been stated to be attending the convention, although apparently there are other, unannounced members that will be attending. We still have no idea what they're showcasing since September is a long ways away, although thankfully we have Bronycon and the Everfree conventions along the way. So if you live nearby (or have plenty of cash on your hands), Mane 6's presence alone should make the Canterlot Gardens worth attending, even though I'm sure it'd already be a great convention without them. So if you're interested, go on and check out the Canterlot Garden's website at http://www.canterlotgardens.com/, and when September comes around I would highly consider attending if I were you.

Ponykart Update Video #3

Yet another Ponykart update video has been released, and unlike that last time they're not kidding! It shows off some new character models, AI karts, Applejack's new kart, the work-in-progress Whitetail Woods track, and some redesigned vegetation. If you're following the Ponykart project this video update is well worth viewing, and I eagerly anticipate more previews from the dev team. So go on and watch it!

Super Smash Ponies Looking For Animators & Voice Actresses

Rainbow Dash in animated form

Surprisingly enough, Super Smash Ponies appears to be still alive and its developers are apparently looking for some people to help them finish Rainbow Dash so they can move on to the better ponies. Not all that exciting, but eh. It's a slow month, so if you happen to be one of those rare voice actresses or animators who aren't always busy with stuff (I'm looking at you, Nicoboss) perhaps you should consider checking this out.

You could read the original announcement at their site, or just head on below the break for some copypasta.

Hello all! We’re still at development, but currently we’re in need of a helping hoof for two things.

Thing one:
We’re looking for animators and digital artists who wish to build puppets and animate character designs for Super Smash Ponies.
Currently we’re working on Rainbow Dash’s character animation. If you are at all interested in animating for Super Smash Ponies, or if you’re a digital artist interested in learning how to vector and animate, send us an email at smashponiesdev@gmail.com, subject title starting with Animations, with your Skype name and a sample of your work.
And thing two:
We are looking for Voice Actresses! This casting call is for the roles of Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. At this point in time we are not requesting voices for other characters.
Here are the instructions for submitting your auditions to us:

  • Create a video, or an MP3 track of you perfroming [sic] your best Applejack or Rainbow Dash impersonation, minimum of 30 seconds and upload it to Youtube or SoundCloud. (Performances on any hosting services other than the two specified will not be considered.)
    • If you plan to audition for both characters, please record separate performances per character.
  • For the performance itself, there is no set script; say what you like; though, using lines from the actual show will also be a huge help as well. We also encourage in grunts, noises, and attack sounds into the mix as well.
  • Then, once you’ve done that, send an email to smashponiesdev@gmail.com with the subject title beginning with Voice Acting.
  • Include the following in the email: your name/alias, a secondary form of contact (second email or Skype), and a link to your youtube/soundcloud recording. An optional and not required item is a link to your voice acting demo, if you have one. It would also help greatly.
The deadline for VA submissions is Saturday, March 29, 11:59 PM PST.
And there you have it! We hope to see new faces, and we look forward to hearing your auditions. Best of luck to all!

Iron Pony Table Tennis

This wasn't originally going to get a post slot this week, but what the hay. Maybe it'll keep you guys from climbing the wall until the hiatus gaming season gets in gear.

In Iron Pony Table Tennis, you plays as Rainbow Dash, facing off against Applejack in a ping pong championship for the ages. Press the arrow keys in order to keep the volley going for as long as possible, but you're just postponing the inevitable: you can't win. Unfortunately, the game's simplistic mechanics and lack of a definite reward system make it hard to invest much time in.

Mane 6 New Game FAQ

Skullgirls Engine FAQ
Mane 6 released a FAQ about their new fighting game in the works, including some silhouettes of characters designed by none other than Lauren Faust herself. Although it's not directly pony related, we'll still follow this project, as it was born from pony, and features what appears to be a similar art aesthetic.

Sorry for the slow news week everyone - we've all been pretty dang busy over the past couple days. Also, that llama may already be my favorite character, even if I've only seen an outline. Discuss.
